White House Heritage baseball opened its Class 2A tournament with an 11-inning win over Forrest, but the Patriots lost their next two for an early exit from the state bracket.
Heritage defeated the Rockets 7-6 on Tuesday thanks to a walk-off single from Cameron Jackson in the bottom of the 11th inning. Their rally against Union County fell short in the next round — the Patriots from East Tennessee won 7-4 — and an elimination rematch with Forrest on Wednesday night saw Heritage fall 12-2.
After a final four finish last season, the Pats end their second straight state trip with a 26-9 record and a top-six placing in Class 2A.
