2023 Main Street Preps All-Midstate boys track and field team

Main Street Preps has named its 2023 All-Midstate boys track and field team.

See below for superlative honors, and the first and second teams. 

Athlete of the Year

Griffin Frankfather, FRA: Frankfather won the Division II-A decathlon with 6,209 points and placed in the top three of his other three events. He earned second in the pole vault (13-00), third in the triple jump (41-03.5) and first in the 300 hurdles (39.57). 

Athlete of the Year Runner-up

Aiden Carter, Brentwood: Carter won the Class AAA decathlon title with 7,094 points, the most of any Midstate decathlete. He also medaled in three of his other four events, taking fourth in the long jump (23-03.25), third in the 110 hurdles (14.56) and sixth in the 300 hurdles (39.68).

Team of the Year

Franklin Road Academy: The Panthers’ 118.5 points were the most scored by any Midstate team, helping them win the Division II-A championship by a 36.5-point margin over Harding Academy. FRA had 14 athletes finish in the top four of their events, including relays. FRA captured its second straight championship and sixth overall.

High jump: Griffin Cooper, Columbia Academy

Triple jump: Sterling Weldon, Nolensville 

Long jump: London Humphreys, CPA 

Pole vault: Kyler Nichols, Green Hill 

Shot put: Drake Carlson, Father Ryan 

Discus: Drake Carlson, Father Ryan 

Decathlon: Aiden Carter, Brentwood
