Macie Harter signed her letter of intent to play softball at Middle Tennessee State University this past week.
Harter ended her junior season with a .465 batting average to go along with a .700 slugging percentage and 13 stolen bases.
MTSU led Conference USA last season with 42 total wins, including 13 in conference. Harter is set to join an MTSU roster that had the second-highest finish in the final season rankings among Conference USA teams in the NCAA Women’s Softball RPI rankings.
“I just want to start by saying how proud of Macie Harter Coach Mike and I are,” Cheatham County Central coach Jahcenda Garrett said. “Macie has been extraordinary since before I have ever gotten the pleasure to coach her. She will excel in whatever she chooses to do. Many outstanding athletes have come through CCCHS and Macie is right up there with the best. Her signing shows her dedication and fight she has had to have her entire life and I am so very proud of her. Put her up against any centerfielder in the state and I would choose her time and time again. Once again, I am proud of the young woman and athlete she is.”
