The first annual Cheatham County Memorial motorcycle ride will be held on Saturday, Sept. 16 (except in the case of inclement weather).
The ride will begin at the Pleasant View Veteran’s Memorial at 2501 Pleasant View Road. Signup starts at 9 a.m. and the ride starts at 10:45 a.m. Participants will ride to Pegram and then finish at the Cheatham County Veteran’s Memorial Park at 162 John Mayfield Drive in Ashland City around 1:30-2 p.m., where refreshments will be served.
There will be speakers at each stop, and at each stop the host of the memorials will have time to tell everyone about what it means to have these memorials in the community in which family members still live and to pay respect for the fallen servicemen and women.
The cost is $20 per driver and $10 per passenger, with all proceeds going towards the annual $1,000 VFW scholarship awarded to a Cheatham County senior each year (this year’s winner was John Dalton). There will be a 50/50 drawing at the last stop as well.
All are invited to participate and the public’s support is much appreciated. Thank you for your support of your local Veterans of Foreign Wars.
