TNKids Nutrition providing free meals in Cheatham County over summer

School-aged children in Cheatham County have a summer option for free meals, courtesy of TNKids Nutrition.

TNKids Nutrition started in Robertson County in 2010 and is expanding this summer to also provide meals in Cannon, Cheatham, Giles, Houston and Trousdale Counties.

Cheatham County dropoffs began on June 5 and will continue every Monday and Wednesday through July 31. Each week volunteers will deliver food boxes containing a combination of shelf-stable and frozen foods, with enough to provide for seven breakfasts and seven lunches.

Parents or guardians may pick up food boxes and the child does not have to be present. There is also no income requirement and the meals are available for all school-aged children.
