Former MJPD officer charged with misconduct

A former Mt. Juliet police officer has been charged with 16 counts of official misconduct, according to a news release from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

The Mt. Juliet Police Department fired Franklin Deriggi, 51, last month, according to the news release.

At the request of 15th District Attorney General Jason Lawson, TBI agents began investigating this summer. During the investigation, agents determined Deriggi misused criminal justice data for unauthorized purposes.

On Sept. 8, he was indicted by the Wilson County Grand Jury. On Sept. 18 he was booked into the Wilson County Jail on a $3,500 bond.
