FMS Falcon Football at home

The Fairview Middle School Falcons will host 8th Grade Recognition Night this Thursday, September 21 hoping to finish out regular season games undefeated. Game time is 6 p.m.

Cano’s Fresh Mexican Grill Trivia Night

Cano’s Fresh Mexican Grill hosts a weekly free Trivia Night each Thursday. Game starts at 6:30 p.m. and gift certificates are awarded to the top three teams. Cano’s Fresh Mexican Grill is located in Bowie Commons in Fairview.

FMS Falcon Fun Festival

Fairview Middle School will host a Falcon Fun Festival for students on Friday, September 22 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The $10 admission will include drink, two slices of pizza and games. Tickets go on sale during lunch week the week of September 18. Sign up for corn hole tournament for extra $2 per team. Concessions will also be sold. FHS Football vs Creekwood

The Fairview High Yellow Jacket Football Team will host Creekwood at The Nest on Friday, September 22 with 7 p.m. game time. Half-time will include a performance by the Sound O’ Gold Marching Band (see page A1) and special recognition of former Jacket athletes being inducted into the FHS Athletics Hall of Fame September 23.

Fairview Nature Fest

The City of Fairview will host Nature Fest in Bowie Nature Park on Saturday, September 23 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The family-friendly event offers live entertainment, family fun, history village, nature-related exhibits, food and lots of vendors to shop. See more page A1.

Fairview area youth will be putting their skills to the test as teams in the Upward Flag Football League play on the Fairview Middle School field on Saturday, September 23.

Cano’s Sip and Paint

Register for Cano’s Mexican Restaurant’s first ever Sip and Paint with Lisa Gardiner and the featured painting “Funky Cow” on Tuesday, September 26 at 7008 City Center Way.  Cost is $37 which includes all art supplies! Banana Pudding Festival

The National Banana Pudding Festival takes place October 7-8 at the Hickman County Ag Pavilion, 979 Grinders Switch Road in Centerville. Walk the Puddin’ Path to sample different banana pudding recipes. Tickets $5 online or $10 at the door. All proceeds support non-profit organizations in Middle Tennessee! The newly-formed Jingo Jeep Junkies will host their first community event on Saturday, October 28 when they celebrate Halloween by hosting Jeep Or Treat from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at LaPlaza, 2055 Fairview Boulevard. The event will include Craft Vendors, Face Painting, Best “Dressed Up” Jeep contest, Costume Contest, Photo booth, Cornhole, Prizes and Family Friendly Fun.

Bowie Garden Crew

The Friends of Bowie Garden Crew will meet on Tuesday mornings (weather permitting) at 8 a.m. at the Bowie Nature Center in Bowie Nature Park. The Garden Crew maintains the gardens around the Nature Center and the restrooms and typically works for about an hour. No gardening experience is necessary. If you’re interested, just bring garden gloves and join them.

Toddler Time at Library

Fairview Library hosts Toddler Time at 10 a.m. each Tuesday. This free event is open to all toddlers and their parents.

Fairview Farmers & Makers Market

The Fairview, TN Farmers & Makers Market runs every Saturday (unless inclement weather) from 9 am until 12 noon in the Fairview Recreation Center parking lot. Local growers, beekeepers and artisans offer their goods. Local produce, preserves, woodcraft, honey, herbs, breads and much more.

TRAFFIC ALERT

Highway 96 North

Starting Tuesday, September 5th Road construction will take place on Hwy 96 at the One Church Home entrance (located near Horn Tavern Rd). The widening of the road project on Hwy 96 is expected to take approximately six weeks. Expect reduced lane widths and periodic lane closures throughout the duration of the project.
