It took extra time, but Dickson County defeated West Creek last week 4-3 as Rachael Brewer scored all four goals for the Lady Cougars. Carlie Breese picked up an assist and Liah Taylor finished with five saves.
With the win, Dickson County locked up the No. 1 seed with one district game left. That game will be against Kenwood, and is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 19.
Dickson County has three more non-district games scheduled after the Kenwood matchup.
“Rachael (Brewer) went off last night and our defense had a better second half and obviously played well during the extra time,” Dickson County coach Chris Cardona said. “We made some critical mistakes defensively but were able to bounce back and create scoring opportunities as a team. It was a great win and awesome experience to be a part of.”
The Lady Cougars, who are playing without Skylar Little due to an injury, are currently 8-1 and undefeated in district play.
