I have been a La Vergne resident since 1994. I have been married to my wife, Tammy, for 31 years. We live in Lake Forest Estates and own a business here in La Vergne. I have worked with the present and past six mayors on different boards and committees donating my time to make the city the best it can be.

Being part of the planning commission for 20-plus years I have seen the tremendous growth of the City and the financial impact and I feel I can continue be a great asset to the City of La Vergne.

As an elected official for La Vergne I work with city staff and departments to formulate and approve the city’s yearly budget. This approved budget is posted on the City of La Vergne’s website for citizens to review.

The past two years the Board of Mayor and Alderman has worked hard to institute major infrastructure projects, including but not limited to widening of South Waldron Road from I-24 to Rocks Springs Road, building a new fire station on Old Nashville Highway, increasing the size by extending the police station and planning ahead by approving the cost to survey the planned widening of Old Nashville Highway.

In addition, continuing and funding the plans for city building/facilities as the city’s employees need a great office to work out of and get the tools they require to perform their jobs. This includes all the staff that work for the police & fire departments.

After the completion of these new regulations the final documents will be sent to the Board of Mayor and Alderman for its input/vote, prior to becoming law.

With the recent growth of La Vergne we have seen and welcomed in such businesses as Amazon, ICEE, Quanta, Paper Chef, as well as assisted with large expansions of Cardinal Health, Sims Recycling and Pool & Spa Depot in addition after lots of meetings we announced the first BJ’s Wholesale in the state of Tennessee

My working for La Vergne Citizens history: 2001-Present, Planning Commission Secretary; 2011-Present, Economic Development Advisory Committee Chairman; 2011-Present, Board of Zoning Appeals Chairman; 2019-2020, Industrial Development Board Chairman.

My other involvement within the City of La Vergne includes as a member of the committee to interview and hire a new city planner (2011), attended the ICSC in Las Vegas (2011 & 2021), La Vergne representative for the Rutherford County Metro Study Committee. Manager of the financial sub-committee (2005) and La Vergne Citizens Police Academy (2011).

La Vergne needs quality leadership with experience and knowledge to continue its controlled growth, with my long involvement with the city I feel I can continue moving the city in the right direction.
